We’re opening an indoor dog park
Hey there! We’re Dawn and Rich Hubbard, the couple behind The Friendly Bark, an indoor dog park opening soon. We’re excited to have you join us on our journey! Right now, we’re in the early stages of figuring out if people in Snohomish County want a place like this. We haven’t locked down a location yet, but we’re mainly looking in the north area, from Bothell to Everett.
Here’s our vision:
We’re aiming for at least 4,500 square feet of play space when we open our indoor dog park, split into a big main area and a smaller one for shy or small dogs. We want to use rubber flooring that’s easy on the dogs’ joints and gives them better traction. There’ll be plenty of fun stuff to keep the dogs entertained, including agility equipment that we can set up if you want to try it out. The goal is to create a fun, enriching space that can be enjoyed all year round, with new exciting features as we grow! For dog owners, we want to make it a great hangout spot to meet new people and build a community. We’re thinking events like singles night, game nights with dog-friendly competitions, creative hangouts like paint/craft time, and more. We can’t wait to show you how everything will come together!
And here’s why we’re doing this:
The weather! With rain for about eight months of the year, we wanted a clean, safe, and fun place to hang out without getting soaked and muddy at the neighborhood dog parks. Then there’s the social side of things. I’m not just talking about dogs, but people too. Bringing my dog out for socialization has really helped me overcome my own social anxiety and connect with others. We want to create a space where people can get past that loneliness and meet others. We think dogs can be a great icebreaker, and with all the events we have planned, hopefully, we can help make a positive change.
Keep an eye out for more updates on social media and our website!

I’d love to bring our dog, Tubbs. He’s in the need of a little socializing and exercise.
