FAQ
Yes. All dogs interested in joining Bark Academy are required to complete a 2-hour behavioral assessment prior to enrollment.
The assessment fee is $30 and allows our team to evaluate your dog’s comfort level, play style, social skills, and ability to participate in a structured group environment. During this time, we’ll observe how your dog interacts with other dogs, responds to handlers, and engages in enrichment activities.
Our goal is to ensure Bark Academy is a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience for every participant. The assessment also helps us determine the best ways to support your dog’s individual needs and set them up for success in the program.
To ensure a safe, enriching, and personalized experience, Bark Academy is limited to a maximum of 6 dogs per session. Each Academy day is supervised by 2 dedicated handlers, allowing us to provide individualized attention, closely monitor social interactions, and actively engage every dog in enrichment activities throughout the day.
Our small group size helps create a calm, structured environment where dogs can learn, build confidence, and thrive.
Yes! Academy participants receive a daily report card highlighting activities, social interactions, enrichment accomplishments, and special moments from their day as well as photos and videos throughout their session.
That’s okay! Bark Academy is about more than play. We offer enrichment activities, scent work, puzzles, and confidence-building exercises that many dogs enjoy regardless of their play style.
At Bark Academy, we are committed to using positive reinforcement and force-free handling practices whenever possible. We believe dogs learn best through encouragement, rewards, clear communication, and positive experiences—not fear, intimidation, or punishment.
Our team focuses on setting dogs up for success by managing the environment, teaching appropriate behaviors, and rewarding good choices.
In rare situations where the immediate safety of a dog, another dog, or a staff member is at risk, we may need to physically intervene or ask a dog to comply with safety-related expectations.
These interventions are never intended as punishment and are used only to protect the well-being of all dogs and people in our care. Our priority is always to maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment where every dog can learn, play, and thrive.
Because your dog deserves more than simply being watched while you’re away.
At Bark Academy, every day is intentionally designed to challenge minds, build confidence, encourage healthy socialization, and create positive experiences. With only six dogs per session and two dedicated handlers, your dog receives the personalized attention they deserve in a safe, enriching environment.
It’s not just a place to spend the morning—it’s a place to learn, play, and thrive.
Our Promise to You
We promise to treat every dog like family. Our goal is to create a safe, positive, and enriching environment where dogs can build confidence, make friends, and enjoy every visit. Every decision we make—from limiting sessions to just six dogs to providing structured enrichment and individualized attention—is guided by what’s best for the dogs in our care.
